State of the Union
According to Brother Ali's official bio, after his recent trip to Mecca, the 2011 Middle East uprisings, and the Occupy movement, the rapper went on a "prolific, self-imposed two-month exile in Seattle" with producer Jake One to make Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color. The album is a critique of modern American society, but also an uplifting look at the possibilities of where it might go. Now out on the road, Brother Ali will combine his excellent way with words with a new band of crack musicians, Blank Tape Beloved.
