QVC Host Faints On Set!

Cassie Slane, the QVC host who recently fainted on set really needs to rethink her priorities. When I initially saw the video of her fainting I assumed she was a single young lady overworking herself to prove herself in her career field. When she was on the Today Show today, she revealed that she has three kids under the age of four, had been up all night with her teething baby the night before, she didn’t eat breakfast, just grabbed something (to eat) and headed to work. She said she was feeling light headed, sat down and was told by the producers to continue the show sitting down, but she said she could continue with the show standing up.

When she fell, she was quickly attended to by paramedics on the set, but due to her overzealousness she put herself and her family through what she shouldn’t have. To show the seriousness of what she experienced she said her mother and sister were crying when they watched the video and her husband told her not to watch it..

Her actions are very irresponsible for a mother of three young kids. Like the saying goes, “No one can take care of your kids like you.” She needs to know she must take care of herself to be around to raise them. If she dies, it’s her poor children who will be left motherless. Also, she is irreplaceable to her mother and her sister. However, she is very replaceable to QVC. They will move right along and find another female host quickly. The people she was trying to please by harming herself by not getting enough sleep, not eating right and working hard for will replace her. They won’t even shut down the station to attend her funeral, so I don’t know why she should go to such lengths to do her job.

As a matter of fact, with three kids that young including one that’s teething and a husband she shouldn’t be working outside of the home unless she has a live in nanny, which she obviously doesn’t. If she had a nanny, that would have been the person staying up with the teething baby all night long. This situation speaks to a bigger problem encountered by working women in America who are often mothers with multiple kids and are often trying to juggle too much to their own detriment. They are sleep deprived, stressed out, depressed, not in the best physical, emotional or mental health and cope by endlessly taking different “coping” medications.

Cassie really needs to reflect and ask herself the question, “If I die overworking myself, what will be the point when I’m gone?”
