Advisors to political leaders must be truthful; they must be sincere and not self-seeking; and most of all, they must be wise themselves. The same applies of spiritual counselors in light of pastoral leadership and the local church “…Can a blind man lead a blind man?

Will they not both fall into a pit?” (Luk. 6:39 NIV) The temptation for personal aggrandizement often overshadows basic wisdom and the maintenance conscience and integrity, and cloud the minds of both secular advisors and spiritual counselors! This leaves no room for real distinction between the two in some cases.
