The folks over at Blackground Records aren't too thrilled about an unfinished version of 'Quit Hatin' by the late Aaliyah Dana Haughton -- who passed away almost twelve years ago -- that was recently leaked.
The beautiful R&B singer would have been 34-years-old if she hadn't perished in a terrible plane crash in The Bahamas in 2001.

A statement from Blackground Records on the track ‘Quit Hatin’ by Aaliyah:
"The track 'Quit Hatin' by Aaliyah was leaked without authorization from Blackground Records as the track is an incomplete recording from past studio sessions. We ask that music sites and bloggers remove the record and should there be any updates to the song, we will release it through a formal announcement. We appreciate the enthusiasm from devoted fans of Aaliyah and the constant celebration of her life and music that has transcended to a new generation of music lovers."
An Aaliyah posthumous album is on the horizon with mixed emotions from fans and peers. This song isn't the first to be leaked and we're sure it isn't the last.
