(October 15, 2012- Los Angeles) Tuesday October 9th, 2012, Keyshia & Daniel: Family First aired on BET leaving viewers with the question of why Keyshia Cole’s older sister Neffeteria “Neffe” Pugh didn’t attend Keyshia and her husband Daniel “Boobie” Gibson’s wedding.Ironically the show follows the life of the singer, professional basketball player and their young son, and is based on balancing their recent marriage and becoming a family with their busy careers.
The couple discussed how important family was and how they both want to keep their families involved in their lives.
The show gave fans a chance to see the intimate wedding ceremony of the young couple that featured Daniel’s family and select members of Keyshia’s family including her mother Frankie and one of her sisters. When asked why she wasn’t in attendance at her sister’s wedding Neffe stated “I wasn’t properly invited to the wedding therefore I didn’t attend”. Yet, Neffe appeared at the beginning of the episode in a flashback of Keyshia and Frankie discussing family business from another reality show.
Neffe has said that the Neffe & Frankie Reality show definitely played a part in the decline in communication between herself and sister, Keyshia. The show featured Neffe and Frankie in a not so positive light at times. Keyshia wanted no part of the drama and stayed clear of the show.
Hopefully, the two sisters can hash out their differences and get back to being role models for the younger ladies in their family unit.
